Festivals and Events

Apart from the wonderful Carnival, Águilas hosts many festivals and events throughout the year. Some of these are:


January 5th: Three Kings parade

Easter: Holy Week celebrations, which are amongst the most important in Murcia.

May: Fiestas of the Cruz de Calabardina, La Romeria del Rocio, Fiestas in los Arejos and Fiesta in El Barranco de los Asensios in honour of the Virgen de Fatima.

16th July: the festival of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, patroness saint of sailors, is celebrated.

First half of August: Summer Carnival. Taking advantage of the summer season, a sample of the famous carnivals in the town is held.

August 15th: the Assumption of the Virgin is celebrated.

October: Young October. Throughout the month, there are many youth activities.

October and November: Francisco Rabal National Amateur Theatre Competition. During October and November, the "Paco Rabal" National Amateur Theatre Competition is held at the Infanta Doña Elena Auditorium. It is a competition with all the best amateur companies in Spain.


December 8th: Festival of the Immaculate Conception in El Garrobillo.
